Set on the water’s edge within the prestigious Val de Vie Estate, this once-dated lake home was completely transformed by designer Tammy Holmes and her husband in just five weeks, ahead of their family’s move from Johannesburg at the start of the new school year.

Working against an ambitious timeline from 10 January to 21 February 2022, the renovation reimagined every inch of the home, from new flooring, lighting and bespoke panelling throughout, to a full exterior repaint, landscaped gardens and the addition of a new jetty on the lake. Custom detailing, refined finishes and a fully furnished fit-out brought warmth, character and cohesion to the space, resulting in a home that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
